MSVCR71.dll was not found

Sometimes when you try to run any application you get 'MSVCR71.dll was not found' error, recently I installed the Discoverer client and facing this issue.

It simly means that MSVCR71.dll is missing in your system. Downlaod the file MSVCR71.dll, generally it will be a zip file. extract the zip file the copy the msvcr71.dll file to the directory 'C:\Windows\System32'.

Try again, even now if it doesnt work, copy the same file to the directory 'C:\Windows\SysWOW64' and hopefully it should work now.

Oracle New Releases 12.2.x Home Page

Oracle has provided couple of extra options to the Home Page look and feel.
Actually there is a profile option “Self Service Personal Home Page mode” with four values

– Framework only                  - Kind of similar to the tree structure
– Framework Simplified        - Fusion Look
– Framework Tree                  - Old Tree structure
– No Homepage                     - Not recommended

Traditional Framework Tree structure

To get the fusion look, change the profile option as below

Clear the Cache from "Functional Administation > Core Services > Caching Framework > Global Configuration > Clear All Cache >> Apply"

Goto the Home page and it should do the job.

If you are still getting the old tree structure, in release 12.2.9 (not sure about earlier releases) on the Home page > Settings > Preferences

Change the Visual Setting 'Home Page Style' to 'Framework Simplified'

'Apply' and go back to the Home Page, and there you go.
